How do I become a Christian?
Plan of Salvation
We are all sinners in need of salvation.
Romans 3:23 “...for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus Our Lord.”
Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of GOD.”
Believe
Over 90% of Americans believe that there is a God. But we also know that America is NOT serving God.
James 2:19 “You believe that there is a God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
2. Confess
Romans 10:9-10 - “That if you confess with your MOUTH, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Privately: Between You and God - 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Publicly: Before Man - Matthew 10:32 “Whoever acknowledges me before man, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.”
Daily: Prayer Time
3. Repent
Greek meaning - To CHANGE your MIND and your PURPOSE in Life
Acts 2:1-41
4. Be baptized
The Greek word for baptism “baptizo” which means to be immersed in water and is symbolic of Life, Death, Burial, and Resurrection.
Matthew 3:13-17 ““
Mark 16:16 “Whoever believes in baptized will be saved and whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
Romans 6:3-4 “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself to me.
Prayer of Salvation
“Lord, I know I am a sinner and I am truly sorry for my sin. I ask for your forgiveness. I recognize that Jesus died for me and paid the price for my sin. Knowing I am not worthy, I accept Your gift and ask You to come into my heart and take control of my life right now. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.”
If you have just said this prayer and were sincere, then CONGRATULATIONS!!
Christ now lives in your heart and you ARE a born-again child of God. Your decision to receive Christ also means that you are going to Heaven one day. That’s a lot to be thankful for!
